CSM -09

I am sharing the car with Marius. The deal it that its my car, but we split all expences, work and driving betwin us.

So this years CSM I had plans to go to the racetrack on Tuesday with Birger. Do the practice on Friday and Saturday. Then Marius will join on Friday evening and do the qualifying on Saturday. Then I do the first race on saturday and Marius the last race on Sunday. However due to lack of time, my plans for staying the whole weekend was not possible.

I was busy restoring my new house, and hand over the old. So I had only time for spending the Friday evening and Saturday, before heading home Saturday night, ready for more painting on Sunday

But the time I did spend was great. Ariving on Friday evening Marius had everything with the car under control. So I joined Birger and tryed to help with his small gearbox problem. And of course drinking some beers and BBQ.

Saturday was wet. It was raining a little in the start, but soon it was a monsoon on the track. This was my first Wet Race. I started in a OK position, next to Jon-Even. But as I was sleeping in the start he went off. I had a nice battle with a Bertone and Anders in his Autobianchi. But after a couple of rounds I braked a little late. As I was heading for the Bertone, I had no option but to get of my go-pedal. As I did that the car lost grip and off I went. Not stopping I put it in second and stepped on the go-pedal and was back on track. But I was alone some metres behind the others. Trying to catch up with the Bertone and Anders I drove faster and faster, but at some places a little over the top. So I gained a little, but not enough. At the end of the race the Bertone did spin out. I passed him before he got back on track, so I was placed next to last in class. Not very happy with my self, but it was fun driving in the wet, altough very slippery.

Jans Modellbiler had placed an extra prize for "Next to last" in Class4 for this race, so I won a great model of a 124 Abarth. My son started to play with the Abarth as soon as I got home, so it was a very nice prize
